Fly Fishing Tips & Hatches
Submitted by admin on Mon, 05/11/2009 - 22:11
We are encouraging our readers to update the site with current updates in the South Fork, CO area concerning the hatch conditions, and the best flies for the Rio Grande River, Lakes, and local streams. South Fork, CO boasts some of the best fly fishing water in the western United States. So grab your fly rod and spend some time casting in this beautiful mountain setting.
I am a former fly fishing guide on the Rio Grande River, and thus want to share with your website viewers a sport that means so much to me. South Fork Anglers and Wolf Creek Anglers are oustanding local fly fishing guide companies and we will add their reports throughout the summer and into the fall.

Hit the Lakes
The lake fishing in the South Fork, CO & Creede, Co area can be outstanding at dusk. Stripping streamer off the bank can yield some large browns and lunker rainbow trout right now. Get your fly rod out and hit the local lakes during mid morning or late evening.
Beau's 4th of July Stream report
The mountain streams are fishing very well right now with a dry caddis size 16. A nice hopper dropper pattern seems to be pulling fish as well. With recent rains the water has enough tint to help fisherman from being spotted as easily. Get out and have a great day on the stream.
I will be filming a stream vodcast in the next couple of weeks.
